The adidas Handball Spezial Black Gum takes on an original 1979 silhouette.​​​ ​The upper of this Spezial sneaker is made of black suede with a white heel tab in smooth leather. Metallic gold Spezial branding appears next to the 3-Stripes on the lateral side and metallic gold adidas branding adorns the white tongue patch. The sockliner is also smooth black leather and the insole is black with white adidas branding. A gum rubber outsole is for traction on hard courts.​
